What is RoHS testing?
RoHS is a mandatory standard enacted by EU legislation. Its full name is the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (Restriction of Hazardous Substances).
The standard was officially implemented on July 1, 2006. It is mainly used to standardize materials and process standards for electrical and electronic products, making it more conducive to human health and environmental protection.
RoHS 2.0 standard
The Official Journal of the European Union (OJ) issued the RoHS Directive (EU) 2015/863, and the EU RoHS 2.0 update was finally settled. The original six controlled substances: lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent chromium (Cr VI), polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE), turned into ten controlled substances, adding di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), ortho-benzene Toluyl butyl benzoate (BBP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) (referred to as phenyl 4P), previously ranked as priority in RoHS 2.0 Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCCD), a substance of assessment, was not formally included in the list of restricted substances. The limits of the ten controlled substances are 0.1% and 0.01%.
After the issuance of this amendment, EU member states need to convert this directive into national regulations and implement it by December 31, 2016. And from July 22, 2019, all electrical and electronic products exported to Europe (except medical and monitoring equipment) must meet this restriction; from July 22, 2021, medical equipment (including in vitro medical equipment) and monitoring equipment (including industrial Monitoring equipment) will also be included in the scope of this control. In addition, toy products that are already under Article 51 of REACH Annex XVII will be not subject to the control of DEHP, BBP and DBP in this Directive.

10. Vending machines;
Among them, the RoHS directive does not apply to the 8th and 9th. All of the above are within the scope of the Fornas testing business.
RoHS testing and certification data preparation
1. Only heavy metal detection: solids need to provide about 5-10g, liquid needs to provide 5-10mL;
2. Only detect brominated flame retardants: about 10-20g for solids and 10-20mL for liquids;
3. Conduct organic metal contaminant detection for heavy metals: provide about 20-30g of sample;
4. Perform other organic contaminant tests: provide about 30g of sample;
5. Only the sample of the coating (coating) part should be inspected. The approximate weight of the material part of the coating (coating) should be indicated. If the weight of the coating (coating) is less than the required amount of the sample, the coating should be provided. Coating) raw materials.
RoHS testing and certification cycle
5-7 business days.
