What is the Japanese TELEC certification?
The Japanese Radio Law requires model approval for designated radio equipment (ie, compliance with technical regulations). TELEC certification is mandatory. The certification body is TELEC (Telecom Engineering Center), which is recognized by the MIC in the scope of designated radio equipment. It is the main registered certification body for Japanese radio equipment compliance certification. TELEC is also called MIC certification in Japan, and TELEC is The MIC is designated as one of the issuing agencies, so it is collectively referred to as TELEC certification.
TELEC certification standard
The technical standards for TELEC certification can be found in the classification and technical standards of the specified radio equipment listed in the official website technical compliance certification system. It is worth noting that when these technical standards differ from the technical requirements of the Radio Regulatory Commission Rules No. 18, the Radio Regulations shall prevail.
TELEC certification type
TELEC certification includes Test Certification and Type Certification. Test certification is performed for each device unit, and the certificate is valid only for each verified device unit;
Type certification is the verification of a sample of a batch of equipment that is also designed and manufactured. This certification is valid for the batch of equipment, but if the design or manufacture of the equipment changes, the equipment will need to be recertified.
It is worth noting that the use of non-low power radio stations and their terminal equipment requires a license to the MIC.
In addition, there are two cases of compliance certification for telecommunications terminal equipment:
For ordinary telephone devices, JATE certification is required as required by the Telecommunications Business Law;
For wireless terminal equipment, in addition to the JATE certification required by the Telecommunications Business Law, TELEC certification is required according to the radio law requirements.

TELEC certification for WLAN and Bluetooth products
TELEC is a mandatory certification for wireless products in Japan, and some are similar to domestic SRRC. It follows the Japanese wave method. The specific test specification is to comply with the MIC (Japan Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications) Notice No. 88 regulations, see the following link http://www.tele.soumu.go.jp/j/material/test.htm MIC to carry out.
The test items for WiFi and Bluetooth products are basically different from those for European and American standards.
The 2.4GHz WiFi products (802.11b/g, 2412-2472 MHz) and Bluetooth products use the standard MIC Notice No.88 Annex43, but 14 channels (Channel 14: 2471-2497MHz) for 2.4GHz WiFi products need to be separate. With the Annex 44 for testing and reporting, the corresponding fees will need to be increased.
For the 5GHz WiFi products (802.11a, 5180~5320MHz, W52 Band and W53 Band), the test standard is Annex45, but it should be noted that the data shows that the MIC will modify the Annex45 in the near future, and the 5.6GHz device (Band W56) will also be Classified into Annex45 and have more stringent DFS testing requirements for the Band 56 band.
All of the above specifications go back to Annex 1, so you should also pay attention to the contents of Annex 1 when referring to the above criteria.
